Abstract: The buying and selling homes between countries such as Spain,
Argentina, the United Kingdom and the United States is currently growing.
This real estate business brings with it not only a large movement of
international capital, but also a high demand for writing and translating of
housing purchase and sale agreements. However, at present, translators
hardly have resources to carry out this task effectively. Thereby, the main
objective of this work arises, namely, to facilitate the processes related to the
translation and writing of housing purchase and sale agreements in
transactions between Spain, Argentina, the United Kingdom and the United
States through the implementation of a free access web site containing
documentary resources designed for that purpose. These resources, which
will be housed on the COMPARVENTACOR website, will be a glossary, the
law applicable, a corpus management tool and templates for the semi-
automatic writing of housing purchase and sale agreements. These resources
will allow their users to reduce time, cost and even intermediaries, which will
increase profits and productivity. The potential users of the
COMPRAVENTACOR website, and the resources it offers, are expected to
be not only translators, but also other professionals such as interpreters,
linguists, terminologists or even lawyers, including real estate agents or
notaries, reaching the buyers themselves individually.
