La gran extensión de arrabales excavada al Occidente de la antigua Madīnat Qurṭuba, ofrece unas condiciones excepcionales para conocer de cerca los sistemas de abastecimiento, almacenamiento y evacuación de agua de una medina andalusí. El análisis pormenorizado de las instalaciones hidráulicas de uno de estos sectores, nos ha permitido comprender mejor la realidad histórica de estos barrios suburbanos, así como las características técnicas y formales de dichos dispositivos.

The archaeological remains of the occidental suburbs of the Medieval Islamic city of Cordoba (Madīnat Qurṭuba) reveal an important number of structures in order to supply, storage and evacuate water. The analysis of the hydraulic systems of one of these sectors has let us know better the historical reality of these suburban areas, as well as the characteristics and technical details of the mentioned structures.
