Resumen: La Transición española (1975‐1982) ha sido uno de los periodos más
importantes de la Historia de nuestro país. La historiografía se ha dedicado a estudiar de forma exhaustiva todos los procedimientos que han contribuido a la llegada de la Democracia a España. Pero la celebración de las primeras elecciones municipales democráticas de 1979 es analizada esquemáticamente. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es abundar en la importancia que merece al hecho que hizo posible la transformación democrática de la Administración local,
teniendo como referencia la ciudad de Córdoba. La elección libre y democrática de las élites del poder local es fundamental, para una comprensión completa y correcta de este período histórico.

Abstract: The Spanish Transition (1975‐1982) has been one of the most
important periods in the History of our country. The science which studies the History has investigated thoroughly about all procedures that got the Democracy in Spain. These searchings analyze the first democratic and municipal elections in 1979 as a schene without bearing in mind a complete scientific or historical
approach. The main goal of this project is to give importance to the fact that made the democratic change of the Local Administration possible, taking as reference Córdoba city. In this way, the freedom on the democratic election of a local government is something essential for a complete and right understanding of this historic period.
