Abstract

This study is about latin epigraphical evidences of Bubastis’ cult. This egyptian deity seems to be present only where the gens isiaca had a shrine. The inscriptions, six in total, are from Rome, Ostia, Nemus Dianae, Turris Libisonis, Scarbantia and Italica. It is possible that this little number depends to the fact that perhaps Bubastis was confused with Isis.
