Abstract

This article gives a general view on the stratigraphical sequence and pottery of the excavation in the "Roman Patio" of the "Museo Arqueológico Provincial" (Córdoba), carried out in May, 1994. Thanks to this excavation, the existence of a Roman theatre in the area was stated and there could be dated its North access (a square), the foundations of the Summa Cavea, and the water supply systems, which date back to the Augustean period. In addition, there could also be defined and dated a complete sequence, which spans the period from the second half of the third century a.d. (in which there were severa1 reforms) to the sixth century a.d. (in which it was abandoned and tumed into a cemetery).
