Abstract

Boca do Rio is a villa maritima located in the southwestern extremity of the Iberian Peninsula with an occupation from the mid-1st century to the mid-5th century. It was one of the most important sites in the manufacture of salted fish from the southern province of Lusitania. In 2016 nine graves threatened by erosion were excavated, dating from the third and fourth century. The results of the detected funeral world are presented, as well as some of the pathologies that affected these coastal populations.
