Abstract

Knowledge about one of the most important buildings of what it was once the caput prouinciae Baetica, the majestic colossal temple that presided the known as forum novum from Colonia Patricia built from the year 25 AD., has progressively been increased because of the pass of the years and the advancement on archaeological researches in Cordoba. During the systematic study of the architectural material related to this temple, there were found a number of pieces that stylistically responded to the first half of the Second Century AD. Among them we can highlight a large fragment of architrave crowning, currently part of a private collection, which we have related to this construction because of its size and formal characteristics. The particulars of its size and style of their bands seem to correspond to the specific Trajan-Hadrian’s period, posing in this work the possibility of the restoration of this building or a part of it, in an indefinite time of the first half of this Century.
