Abstract

This paper aims to present an iconographic and iconological walk through the maritime theme type of currency minted in the Coastal Baetica since the beginning of the third century b. C. until the end of its mintage during the Empire. To meet this target, shall state briefly the origins and parallels of these images in order to explain the economic, social and ideological meanings that this iconography entails.
