Abstract

The Post-orientalizing Age Archaeology (5th century BC) in the middle Valley of Guadiana River, mainly represented by the Cancho Roano palatial architecture, seems to have much to do with the North of Cordoba, in Los Pedroches region. The site of La Atalayuela (Alcaracejos) has already been indicated as one of these big buildings isolatedly located in the middle of the country and abandoned at the end of this period. Now, we show a set of bronze objects found near the border between Córdoba and Badajoz that can be related with similar fi ndings happened in Hinojosa del Duque, more than 20 years ago. All those elements allow us to include the northern territory of Cordoba in the post-orientalizing Middle Guadiana cultural area, whom it belongs too for purely hydrographic arguments. So, this area can be differentiated from the Iberian Culture that is contemporarily arising at the South of Guadalquivir.
