Abstract

In this work we analyze several mosaic from the archaeological excavation of a domestic context in the environs of the site known as “Puerta de Sevilla”, one of the accesses to the islamic city of Niebla –Ilipla at Roman time–. For one of them, of figurative character, we propose the free adaptation of cinegetic and agricultural models from the great political-cultural centers like Emerita Augusta and Italica. In function of their application to a peripheral territorial of the Baetica, this mosaic shows a special manifestations characterized by the crudeness and the free recreation of the subjects. Finally, a complete mosaic from a roman villa rustica located in the environs of the city of Ituci (Tejada la Nueva) is analyzed.
