The editorial team of Collectanea. Revista de Ciencias Sociales declares that its policy on the use of generative artificial intelligence follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

In Collectanea. Revista de Ciencias Sociales, the creation and responsibility of published content rests exclusively with human authors. Therefore, the use of artificial intelligence tools to generate arguments, analysis, conclusions, or main sections of manuscripts is not allowed.

Authors may use AI technologies only for limited, superficial tasks, such as improving writing, spelling checks, or style editing. In all cases, authors are responsible for the final content and must ensure that no external tool compromises the quality, accuracy, or integrity of their work.

Reviewers are prohibited from using AI to assess, analyze, or comment on manuscripts under review. Scientific evaluation and recommendations must rely solely on the reviewers’ professional judgment, without assistance from platforms that process the content of the submissions.

The editorial team will also not use AI tools to make publication decisions or to replace human judgment. AI may only be employed for technical support functions under editorial supervision, such as formatting checks or automated style review, always with final decisions made by humans.

Failure to comply with this policy — for example, submitting content generated wholly or partially by AI beyond permitted language editing — may result in manuscript rejection, in accordance with Collectanea’s ethical standards, in order to safeguard the originality, transparency, and integrity of the scientific research published in the journal.
