‘A tree named persís’ (Sozοmen EH V 21 §§ 8-9)

Abstract

This paper focuses on the development of the identification of a miraculous tree echoed by Sozomen in his Historia ecclesiastica. The narrative feature comes from a tradition that circulated among the Copts, and goes back to the apocryphal work known like Liber Infantia Salvatoris.
