Christianity in Assuan: new and old epigraphic discoveries in the Nile western bank

Abstract

The recent Spanish mission in the Egyptian necropolis of Qubbet el Hawa has opened new perspectives in the study of Christian epigraphy in the area. Both the newly discovered Christian ostraka, but also the well known church of Qubbet el Hawa, will be actively studied in coming years.
