Fragment of a Judaeo-Arabic glossary of the Book of Genesis: Translation and Notes

Abstract

This article includes an edition, translation and study of the fragment kept in Firkovich collection (I 2310) of a Judeo-Arabic glossary to the book of Genesis (24,66-26,20). I do an analysis of its contents from a lexicographical point of view and I also contrast its techniques and its Arabic glosses with al-Fāsī’s dictionary and the Arabic translation of the Pentateuch by Săþadyah Gaÿon.
