Abstract

: My aim in this article is to minimize the widespread lack of knowledge, both internal and external, concerned with the intellectual activity of the Mozarabs in present-day Portugal. With this in mind, I give a series of samples about their relative Arabic scholarship, special attention being paid to Arabic-Latin translations, that have deserved some interest among foreign Mediaevalists and Arabists. We also take advantage of this article in order to offer a comprehensive account of some fifty studies on Portuguese Mozarabism that have been published in the last twenty five years.
