Abstract
During the Sixteenth Century, because of an economic improvement in the city, it begins to consolidate a mesocracy who deals in trade and liberal professions. However, this social group had to face up to a double problem that would obstruct its development in the future: an aristocracy who keeps the most important posts and titles in the city, as well as a radical change on economic situation that will be specially unfavourable from the Seventeenth century.
