As on earth so in heaven. Approach to the study of chaplaincies in early Modern Age: between transcendence and family policy. The case of Córdoba

Abstract

In Spain, during the Modern Age, the foundation and the transfer of the chaplaincies were an important social role, although the studies around it are very different. In theory like a legal and canonical object, the chaplaincies were in the past life a main function in the family politics inside the lineage of several social bodies. In the one hand, its focus the transcendental founders interests, and in the other hand its mean a significant duty of ostentation for the patron and a way of support for the chaplains.
