What was under the "solideo con orejeras" of the canon Verde Sañudo? (Burgos, 1707-1718)

Abstract

In the first years of the 18th century, a canon of the Cathedral of Burgos, don Antonio Verde Sañudo, broke, consciously or unconsciously, the essential behaviour rules and unnerved the Chapter and their members. Father of four healthy children and with a bright future – only the last one was legally recognized –, a great trouble-maker and involved in many arguments, was a very educated person but, for his aggressive character and his arrogant personality, had little charm and no emotional attractive among his capitulars compadres.
