Nobility, genealogy and heraldry in cordoba: mesa’s mansion house and the palace of las quemadas

Abstract
The noble mansion in Fernández de Mesa’s entailed state, landlords of the seigneury of The Chanciller and then, by marriage, marquis of Villaseca, is one of the most important civil buildings in Córdoba. In this way, we expect to give a spatial context and to make a genealogic history wich can explain the reasons of her existence, their denizens and the changes that arrives with her sale in the XIXth century, until to be called like “The palace of Las Quemadas”. We have pay attention, in addition, to the heraldic signs of the mansion and others associated with the Mesa family in the city.
