La generalización de la hidalguía en la montaña Leonesa

Abstract

In this work we analyze one of the most characteristic and complex phenomena of
the Spanish nobility, which is its practical generalization in some regions of the north of the
peninsula, specifically in the Leonese Mountain, whose prestige among chroniclers and kings
of arms, as origin and mark of nobility, is well known. Despite this, it is a matter little
addressed by historiography, which justifies, in our opinion, this article, in which we will deal
with its origins and development throughout the Late Middle and Modern Ages.
