Abstract
This article explores the life and career of Alonso Pérez de Guzmán, chief almoner and chaplain to Philip IV, Archbishop of Tyre, and Patriarch of the Indies. It focuses on his biographical ties to the Pérez de Guzmán lineage as the son of the VII Duke of Medina Sidonia. The article also examines his last will and testament, which provides valuable insight into his personal and social networks, as reflected in the distribution of his estate among relatives, servants, close associates, religious institutions, and members of the clergy. Overall, this study offers a nuanced portrait of the personal and material world of a high-ranking ecclesiastical figure in the Spain of the XVII Century.
