As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines
Submission of Original Articles and Books for Review
1.1. Submission of Original Articles:
Manuscripts must be submitted via the OJS PKP system of the IBE journal after completing registration through the following form: https://journals.uco.es/ibe/user/register.
Authors who have previously submitted articles to other journals of the University of Córdoba do not need to register again, as they can access IBE using their existing credentials.
Manuscripts must be between 5,000 and 7,500 words in length. It is essential that submissions use the journal’s template and follow the fundamental citation guidelines.
Submissions are accepted in both English and Spanish. All articles must include the following elements in both languages: title, abstract, and keywords.
To ensure anonymity during the evaluation process, authors should replace their names with the term "author" at the beginning of the manuscript and in bibliographic references (in cases of self-citation). Any elements that could reveal authorship, such as project names, must also be anonymized.
Ensuring Anonymous Review:
To maintain the integrity of the anonymous review process, authors must avoid revealing their identity, as detailed in the following section.
Review Process
Initially, the article will undergo a plagiarism check using Turnitin and a review for compliance with formal requirements. If plagiarism is detected or the article does not adhere to the journal’s guidelines, it will be automatically rejected. Once this initial screening is passed, the manuscript will undergo rounds of peer review, with possible outcomes being: acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection.
Authors are requested to propose a maximum of three potential reviewers, providing their names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses, while adhering to the following restrictions:
Current or former mentors or supervisors must not be included.
Current or former research collaborators must not be included.
Current or former students or postdoctoral researchers must not be included.
Reviewers from the same institution must not be included.
Editors retain the exclusive right to decide whether to contact the suggested reviewers. Typically, no more than one reviewer from the provided list will be selected for a single manuscript.
Important:
A Word document containing all requested information must be uploaded in the supplementary documents section.
Proof Correction
If the article is accepted, the formatted version will be sent to the authors, who will have the opportunity to make a single round of corrections.
