Abstract

This article presents a study carried out in the Emergency Management Unit of the University Hospital Reina Sofía in Córdoba (Spain) in relation to the sanitary approach or action in the face of gender violence. Its purpose has been to know, from the perception of the health personnel of this unit, their conception of gender violence as a health problem, the training they have and information on the resources they have to intervene in the event of a possible case of gender violence. The sample has been made up of a total of 251 professionals who work in this Emergency Unit, from the following professional categories: Medicine-FEA, Medicine-Resident, Nursing, Nursing Assistant and Warders. Among the main conclusions it is highlighted that gender violence is considered a health problem for all participants, and the detection of possible cases and adequate assistance to victims is essential and must be reinforced with adequate training, and the collaboration of all professionals.
