ARTUR SCHNABEL: UNA APROXIMACIÓN A SU CONCEPCIÓN MUSICAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
The personality of Artur Schnabel undoubtedly occupies an exceptional place in the field of piano, both as a performer and as a pedagogue. Thus, in the following lines we will deal with some of the most relevant biographical aspects and we will explain, briefly, his way of approaching an interpretation starting from the study of the work. In this way, we will approach, in a more or less precise way, what his musical conception was through examples based on works that are part of the fundamental repertoire of any pianist. Finally, we cannot forget Schnabel's importance in the recording field, having been the first to record the complete piano Sonatas of Beethoven, a true milestone in history. However, his legacy in this field is much broader, including recordings of works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Brahms, Dvorak or, of course, Schubert, among other authors.
