IBERIAN VEGETAL LANDSCAPE DURING THE QUATERNARY ERA

Abstract

Some of the main palaeoenvironmentals events with influence in the changes of the holocene iberian Peninsula vegetal landscape are described. We focuse on the role of Juniperus in the central Meseta during the pleistocene microthermic phases, the role of the refugia and the importance of vegetative sprout. Finally, some aspects refering to quaternary events of arctotertiary and palaeotropical geofloras are mentioned.
