The determining factors of the intention to revisit an ecotourism destination in the context of the African Sahara
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study attempts to develop a model that assesses the determinants of the intention to revisit an ecotourism destination in a Saharan context. The literature review showed that the intention to revisit a tourist destination strongly depends on the uniqueness of the destination, the tourist experience, tourist satisfaction and the image of the destination. Our study focuses on ecotourism which is a form of nature-based tourism. The survey is conducted among ecotourists visiting the Sahara in southern Tunisia. The data are analyzed using structural equations by the PLS method, given that the study sample is small, the software used is SmartPLS 4. The results revealed that the uniqueness of the destination, the ecotourism experience and the image of the destination have a significant positive impact on the intention to revisit the Sahara. The results also show that the ecotourism experience has the greatest impact.
