Abstract

This paper aim to study the cultural, terminological and translation challenges involved in translating gastronomic texts from Spanish to French, more specifically restaurant menus. To this end, firstly, from an analytical-descriptive point of view, we will address the concept of culturemes within gastronomic translation and the different translation strategies and techniques that the translator should consider in this agri-food field. On the other hand, secondly, we will exemplify the challenges of gastronomic translation through the case study of Noor Restaurant and the translation of its menus.
