«Ir contra el viento», a José Fernández Guerra's recasting of «Yo por vos y vos por otro» by Agustín Moreto

Abstract

In this paper we present a comparative study between Yo por vos y vos por otro by Agustín Moreto (1676) and Ir contra el viento (1826), a recasting of the play by José Fernández Guerra, a 19th century playwright and bibliophile. This recasting has not been studied previously. Therefore, we will offer a comparative study in order to establish the similarities and differences between both plays and try to justify the changes introduced by the recaster.
