En la mitología griega, Tetis, madre de Aquiles, desafía el arquetipo tradicional de la figura materna ideal, siendo retratada como una deidad compleja con capas de fuerza y resentimiento. A menudo pasada por alto en su papel de madre cariñosa, Tetis emerge de las reinterpretaciones de la Ilíada como una poderosa diosa cuya ira y afán de venganza hacia la estirpe mortal de Aquiles reflejan sus orígenes divinos y su agencia.
