THE TRANSITION FROM THE ISLAMIC CORDOBA TO THE LATE MEDIEVAL CORDOBA. NEW PERSPECTIVES FROM ARCHAEOLOGY.

Abstract

The Christian transformations in the urbanism of the Islamic Cordoba have been studied, traditionally, through the written sources and the artistic manifestations conserved in the city. However, its limitations prevent us from solving certain questions about this process. Archaeology, for its part, has played a minor role despite its evident potential in the study of material evidence, regardless of its age. For these reasons, our work consists of a reflection on the state of affairs that allows us to integrate the research advances in other cities, in order to raise new perspectives from Archaeology in Cordoba.
