ABOUT THE FABIA HADRIANILLA’S LEGACY: THE VISIBILITY OF WOMEN IN ROMAN BAETICA

Abstract

In the present work we consider to make a study about the importance of civic munificence in the Roman society and how the women promoted through this one, basing on Fabia Hadrianilla. Fabia Hadrianilla, member of a senatorial family, supported the importance of her gens inside Seville, her city of origin. Thus, though the women could not manage to occupy political charges, they could play an important role in this familiar prestige. Therefore, our aim will be to show the importance of the women in the civic munificence and how they could take part in the public life.
