Abstract

In the present work we consider to make a study of the different types of existing freedmen in the Roman Baetica, using the epigraphy documentation preserved in this province. The freedmen that we will find, in general, will be those with economic resources that sought to improve his social position using the means that had to their scope, as the evergetism, the performance of the Augustalidad and the obtaining of municipal honors. For the reasons pointed out above, our aim will consist of looking and analyzing the existing documentation that shows the principal characteristics of these freedmen in the cities of the roman Baetica.
