THE MILITARY AND THE MUNICIPAL LIFE IN ROMAN SPAIN: THE OTHER CONQUEST

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study an specific detail of the municipal life in Roman Hispania. The access of veterans to the local senates and the performance of political and religious responsibility. Basing our research mainly in epigraphic sources, we try to clarify how the veterans had influence in their colonies after their military service and the reasons of this integration. On basis of the results obtained, new researches will be made in the future to know more about other issues of the military integration in the civic life.
