Abstract

This work’s subject matter draw from a material reference, the chapel of Santa Úrsula and Francisca Romana, integrated in the set of chapels of the north wall of Córdoba Cathedral. The present work intends to address a specific historical and social reality, the systematic rise of the middle groups to the top of the municipal power in Córdoba in the 17th century, and which was traditionally monopolized by a blood nobility. Therefore, in these lines, artistic creation is conceived as an authentic social strategy in the form of heritage projection, in order to create an image of power.
