The myth of the Kāhina: between the romanity and the Islamic conquest of North Africa (VII-VIII centuries)

Abstract
This study expects present the demystification of certain facts and persons around the end of romanitas and the Islamic Conquest of North Africa played on the figure of Kāhina, taken as the heroine of an alleged Berber resistance. To this effect, we address the North-African political, social and economical situation on eve of the conquest in their geographical context. Below, we assessed the ethnic question with the final pourpose of establish the differents groups existings and their political weight. Finally, we study the character of the authority played by Kāhina, whereby is determining to establish her religious filiation.
