Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine whether Sparta, as portrayed through the lens of the film 300, has been employed in Spain in the same terms as in most Western European countries and in the Americas by far-right or radical right groups. The purpose is to analyze the intended functions of this cultural reference within the Western context. Another objective is to assess whether Spanish far-right groups and the party Vox also resort to the same elements or whether they tend to adopt different ones, as well as the reasons behind their choices.
