Spirituals, noble courts and lineages. Development of religious social models in sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Andalusia
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Renaissance Spain, the religious Catholic Reform created a christian behaviour model for the nobility. This social group adopted it in his personal and social life. Thus, the religious factor was incorporated in the social role of the nobility. This paper analyses this social process studing some of the most important nobility lineages of Andalusia, as the Sotomayor, Zúñiga, Portocarrero, Téllez-Girón or Ponce de León. The final consequence was the creation of a saint nobility, which lived in Palaces-Churchs or in Palaces-Convents.
