Study on cultural heritage activities in the rural environment of Val Pellice (Turin, Italy)

Abstract
Heritage education is an essential tool to preserve rural areas and the environment. Generally, the role of the teacher has been associated to provide a transformative heritage education among the students, not giving importance to the role of families. This study shows the results about the relevance that families of the rural area of Val Pellice (Turin, Italy), give to heritage education. A structured questionnaire was elaborated with variables related to the frequency and type of cultural activities in which children and adolescents participate. The results show that the cultural activities are recreational, general nature and are not focus on children-youth groups. Furthermore, it appears that these families have difficulties to accessing them due to lack of family conciliation and services.
