Abstract

In today's globalised world, migratory movements of all kinds are a constant phenomenon. However, since the mid-twentieth century, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of providing international protection to refugees and asylum seekers. As a consequence of this concern, international institutions such as the European Union have the need to produce an enormous amount of texts in different languages relating to this issue, such as directives, regulations and other publications. The aim of this research is to analyse the translation of the concepts "refugee", "third-country national" and "asylum seeker" from English to Spanish, based on the Dublin Regulation, and thus to provide useful information for translation students or professional translators.
