GEORG HEYM, NINETEEN WINDOWS TO HIS POETRY
Main Article Content
Abstract
These lines propose a journey through the poetry of Georg Heym, an initiatory figure of German Expressionism. The selection aims to highlight the diversity of sources nourishing the author’s production, a diversity poising his work on a complex equilibrium between heritage and innovation. Impeccable metric schemes resist the pressure of a repertoire brimming with obsession and omen. A powerful and suicidal subject, the German pre-war culture, overflows in a poetic discourse merging creation and destruction into a mysterious and intimate blend.
