Analysis of the impact on academic results in mathematics following the implementation of the scientific scope program
Main Article Content
Abstract
The introduction of the "ámbitos" program in Spain, through the Organic Law of Education, allows for the integration of subjects in primary and secondary education, facilitating a multidisciplinary approach. This method addresses methodological and socio-emotional aspects, which are crucial in the transition to secondary education. Although academic literature lacks studies on "ámbitos" at this level, international experiences support its effectiveness. A study conducted analyzes whether "ámbitos" affect academic outcomes in mathematics during the first and second years of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). The results indicate that while a significant improvement was observed in 1º ESO, no statistically significant differences were found in 2º ESO, suggesting that the positive impact of the "ámbitos" might be more limited to certain levels. These investigations could enhance educational quality, aligning with global debates on curricular integration and teacher training.
