Trends in the Integration of ICTs in Ibero-American Mathematics Education: A Bibliometric Analysis of the Descriptors Used

Abstract

This study examines trends in the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) in mathematics education in Ibero-America through a bibliometric analysis of the descriptors used in publications indexed in Scopus. Based on the collection and filtering of documents using the PRISMA method, 127 articles published between 2000 and 2023 were identified and categorized into six key thematic areas. The results show a sustained growth in scientific production from 2016 onwards, with a notable increase from 2020, suggesting a significant impact of the pandemic on the digitization of learning. In addition, the most recurrent terms in the research include mathematics education, ICT, e-learning and educational technology. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in the area ICT and.
