Abstract
The Spanish translation of the Prologue to the Dialogus libri vite (Dialogue on the Book of Life) is part of a broader work on the intellectual circle of Archbishop Rodrigo Jiménez de Rada. The Prologue is quite possibly the section most originally attributable to Rodrigo’s own pen. On the surface, the purpose of the Dialogue is undoubtedly polemical in nature ‒as evidenced by the Prologue. However, some elements in this text support the formulation of more complex hypotheses
