Abstract
In discussing the issue of the «dark night», on precisely the protective capability of the dark contemplation to the soul, there is a overall declaration in the beginning of the comment in the second book of the «Dark Night», about the second stanza of the poem of the same title (ch. 15), after that, John of the Cross discusses the first verse (ch. 16), 2 (caps. 17-21), 3 (ch. 22), 4 (ch. 23) and 5 (ch.24).
