Abstract

The Cordoba Botanic Garden has developed an educational strategy for the protection and conservation of the plant resources during the last few years. This work has been based on a social awareness towards the discovery and conservation of the plant world. Ethnobotanical knowledge has been a major tool mainly in the early stages of the educational activities. Numerous observations have been made during this process, which lead us to a new methodological contribution to the ethnobotanical research: obtention of information, conservation and reversion of knowledge through the educational experience with scholars and adults. These activities are significant enough for them to have both the information inherited from their ancestors and their own information.
