Abstract

This essay studies not only the poetic production of Ernestina de Champourcin, but also her extensive translation work. In this way, we will review her contribution to translation during the exile in Mexico and after her return to Spain, and the languages and publishing companies in which she worked. In addition, we will study Champourcin’s translation of Selected Works by Emily Dickinson. In this way, we will analyze the different translation techniques that she used in this version, such as: the versification, the cultural references, amplifications and omissions, and the syntactic structures.

Key words: Champourcin, Emily Dickinson, literary translation, poetic translation.
