La infraestructura necesaria para el desenvolvimiento del Tribunal de la Inquisición de Córdoba, exigió la implantación de una cárcel para aquellos reos que habían de cumplir la pena de privación de libertad, en la denominada cárcel perpetua o Casa de la Penitencia. El presente trabajo de investigación histórico-jurídica, trata de desvelar
la hasta ahora desconocida ubicación y configuración del edificio que albergó dicha Casa de la Penitencia cordobesa, aportando igualmente datos sobre su desarrollo, distribución, alcaides, presos y devenir del propio edificio, completando así el conocimiento histórico de elementos concernientes a este Tribunal
