SUBSIDIES FOR THE FAMILIES OF COMBATANTS AND EX-COMBATANTS DURING THE FIRST FRANCOIST PERIOD IN THE PROVINCE OF CORDOBA

From the first moment, social aid became a priority objective in the Franco government's actions. As an example, we can point out that on January 9, 1937, this subsidy was created for the families of those who enlisted in the Regular Army or volunteer militias. It was an indirect tax or surcharge that, by taxing certain forms of consumption, allowed the formation of a fund destined to help those who needed it most, without prejudice to the prizes awarded to the combatants once the campaign was over.
