Duties of the editorial team
The editorial structure of CODEX. Anuario de Ciencias Histórico-Jurídicas is designed to ensure the scientific quality of the journal, the transparency of the editorial process, and compliance with international academic publishing standards. The editorial team is composed of the Editorial Board, the Secretariat, the Editorial Council, and the Advisory Scientific Committee, whose members perform specific functions in the management and evaluation of submissions.
Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is responsible for the scientific orientation and overall management of the journal. Its responsibilities include coordinating the work of the editorial team, presiding over the Editorial Council, and ensuring compliance with editorial standards and best practices in academic publishing.
Additionally, the Editorial Board defines the journal’s editorial lines, supervises the manuscript evaluation process, and makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection for publication. It is also responsible for promoting the journal’s academic visibility, supporting its inclusion in indexing systems, and ensuring the information on the editorial platform is up to date.
Secretariat
The Secretariat supports the Editorial Board in the administrative and editorial management of the journal. Its duties include coordinating communications with authors and reviewers, as well as providing technical assistance throughout the different stages of the editorial process.
The Secretariat is also responsible for managing editorial documentation, preparing issues for publication, issuing certificates related to editorial activities, and collaborating in the institutional promotion and dissemination of the journal.
Editorial Council
The Editorial Council actively participates in the journal’s scientific and editorial management. Its members contribute to defining editorial guidelines, planning content, and overseeing the evaluation process of submitted manuscripts.
The Council also helps ensure that manuscripts comply with the journal’s thematic and formal standards and may propose specialists for peer review. Their work is essential for maintaining the academic rigor and scientific consistency of the publications.
Advisory Scientific Committee
The Advisory Scientific Committee consists of distinguished specialists in the field of historical and legal sciences. Its main role is to provide academic guidance to the Editorial Board and the Editorial Council regarding the scientific orientation and development of the journal.
Committee members may also participate in the evaluation of manuscripts when their specialized expertise is required. Furthermore, they contribute to strengthening the journal’s academic and international profile through their connections with various institutions and scientific communities.
