Abstract

It has been analysed the comic character Pasquín from La cisma de Inglaterra by Calderón. Those elements that make him worthy of a jester specialization in the gracioso’s area are exposed as a courtly domestic fool. The playwright recovers the figure of the jester as an oracle of evil, censoring the erratic behavior of Henry VIII.
